Unclear on the Concept
“Really one of the things I’m most concerned about is that you’re going to have a bench that is 6 feet away from a diner’s table.”
Dear Mr. Mayor:
I just read with horror of the city’s plans to put benches on the sidewalk outside my corner restaurant. I really must protest as this will allow people to sit within 6 feet of where my customers want to sit.
Don’t these city planners understand that when people ask for a window seat in a restaurant, they need assurances that they won’t have to look at anyone using the sidewalks for the duration of the meal?
I mean really, if people watching was something diners wanted, sidewalk cafes would be so much more popular than they are.
Thank you for your time and I hope you vote to oppose this downtown beautification project.
